What is on each page?

The list is grouped by use, so each page covers a mix of related words. Pronouns and question words come first, then people and family, time and numbers, places and things, and finally the adverbs and connectors that tie sentences together. The set is an editorial beginner list, not an official frequency list.

Page 1: Write the Meaning (words 1 to 50)

Page 1 is a two-column table. The left column has the Hangul and the Revised Romanization, and the right column is empty. You write the meaning and cover the key. Some of the first rows look like this:

# Hangul Romanization Meaning
1 이 i this
2 그 geu that
3 저 jeo I (humble); that over there
4 나 na I (casual)
5 너 neo you (casual)
6 우리 uri we, our
10 여기 yeogi here
13 누구 nugu who
15 어디 eodi where
17 사람 saram person

The rows keep their list numbers, so you can see that the sample skips a few.

Page 2: Write the Hangul (words 51 to 100)

Page 2 flips the task. You see the meaning and the romanization, and you write the Hangul in the empty cell, copying the first three from a dotted model. This trains spelling, which reading alone does not: you have to recall every letter of the block.

Meaning Romanization Hangul to write
three set 셋
house, home jip 집
school hakgyo 학교
book chaek 책
money don 돈
very aju 아주

Page 3: Match 20 Words to English

Page 3 has 20 Hangul words in the left column and 20 English meanings, in a mixed order, in the right column. You write the letter of the right meaning in a box. The 20 words are 사람, 친구, 학교, 물, 책, 돈, 집, 시장, 병원, 은행, 우산, 신발, 오늘, 내일, 어제, 지금, 아주, 조금, 같이 and 빨리.

Page 4: Ten Sentences with a Missing Word

Page 4 has ten short sentences, each with one blank, and a word bank of ten words that you use once each. Here are the first sentences with their answers:

Sentence Answer Meaning
저는 ___이에요. 학생 I am a student.
이것은 ___이에요. 책 This is a book.
___을 먹어요. 밥 I eat rice (a meal).
___이 어디예요? 은행 Where is the bank?

The full answer key lists all ten missing words, and the other six sentences. At the bottom there are two lines for you to write your own sentences with words from the list.

A Four-Day Plan

Do 25 words a day instead of all 100 at once. A word needs a few meetings before it sticks, so a short daily session works better than one long one. A plan that fits the four pages:

Day Task Words
1 Page 1, first half 1 to 25
2 Page 1, second half, then review day 1 26 to 50
3 Page 2, first half 51 to 75
4 Page 2, second half, then pages 3 and 4 76 to 100

Between sessions, review with the 100 korean words flashcards, which plays one clip per card. The 100 korean words list gives an example sentence for every word.

Words with More than One Meaning

A few words on the list have two or three meanings, and the key gives all of them. Learn the extra meanings early, because they cause most of the confusion in short sentences.

Word Meanings on the list
차 tea; car
눈 eye; snow
배 pear; belly; ship
달 month; moon
해 sun; year
일 work; thing to do
밥 cooked rice; meal
아침 morning; breakfast

Each word has one spelling for all its meanings, so the sentence tells you which meaning is meant. 차를 마셔요 is "I drink tea", and 차를 타요 is "I ride in a car".

How Do I Use This Sheet?

Work in pencil and say each word aloud. Follow these steps:

  1. Cover the right column (the meanings) with a card or folded paper.
  2. Read the Hangul aloud, then say the meaning before you write it.
  3. Check the answer key after each half page, not at the end.
  4. Circle each word you missed and write it on a list for the next day.
  5. Redo the circled words first in the next session.

What Is the Answer Key For?

The answer key is the last page, and it is for checking after you finish a half page. It gives every meaning, every Hangul spelling and the ten page 4 sentences in full. If you miss a word twice, put it on the korean vocabulary list template with a sentence of your own.

The sheet prints well in black and white. Use these settings:

  • Paper: A4 (210 by 297 mm) or US Letter (8.5 by 11 inches), using the matching file.
  • Scale: 100 percent, with "fit to page" turned off, so the writing cells stay the same size.
  • Margins: 12 mm on every side, with room for a hole punch.
  • Print the answer key on a separate sheet if you want to keep it out of sight.

Mistakes to Watch For

  • Skipping the write step. Reading a word is easier than writing it. Writing the Hangul on page 2 catches spelling slips that reading hides.
  • Not saying words aloud. Silent practice leaves the sound unlearned. Say each word before you write.
  • Learning only one meaning. 눈, 배, 차 and 달 each have more than one meaning, so learn the meanings together.
  • Memorising romanization. The romanization is a support. Try to answer from the Hangul alone by the second day.

What Should I Practice Next?

When you have finished the four pages, practise the words by theme. The next worksheet is the korean family words worksheet, which goes deeper on the people words. If sentence building feels shaky, read about korean particles. All the vocabulary sheets are on the korean vocabulary worksheets page.

This sheet does not teach verbs or full conversations. Used over four days, the 100 korean words worksheet gives you a solid base of the most useful beginner words, read, written and used.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many words are on the worksheet?

The worksheet holds 100 words. Page 1 lists 50 for you to translate, and page 2 gives the English for the next 50 and asks you to write the Hangul. Page 3 re-tests 20 of them by matching, and page 4 uses ten in sentences. Every word comes from the Top 100 Korean Words list, in the same order.

Is it the real top 100 words in Korean?

It is an editorial beginner set, not an official frequency list. The 100 words are grouped by use: pronouns, people and family, time and numbers, places and things, and adverbs. They are chosen to build simple sentences quickly. A research-based frequency list would give a somewhat different order, and the page says so plainly.

Which level is the 100 korean words worksheet?

It is level A1. You need to read Hangul, but you do not need to know any of the words. Pages 1 and 2 teach and test the words one by one. Page 4 uses simple sentences with particles, so a learner who has not met 은/는 or 을/를 may want to read the particles lesson first.

Is audio linked?

The PDF is silent, but this page has pronunciation audio for sample words and sentences. The audio is AI-generated and checked by a Korean teacher before publication. For all 100 words with a clip each, use the 100 korean words flashcards deck, which plays one clip per card and has slower clips for sound-focus cards.
