What Is on Each Page?

Page 1 is about verbs, because the hardest part of sport words is knowing which verb to use. Page 2 is about vocabulary, and page 3 is about using the words to talk about yourself.

Page 1: Sports and the Verb That Goes with Each

Page 1 is a table of twelve rows. Each row shows a sport word with its object particle, and a blank for the verb. You write the polite verb form. The first two rows are dotted models to trace. English often says "play" for every sport, but Korean picks a verb by how the sport is done.

Sport RR Meaning Phrase with verb RR of the phrase

Four verbs cover the sports on the sheet. 하다 is used for team sports, martial arts and fitness: 축구를 해요, 요가를 해요. 치다 means "to hit" and is used for racket and strike sports: 테니스를 쳐요, 탁구를 쳐요. 타다 means "to ride" and is used for sports where you move on something: 스키를 타요, 자전거를 타요. 가다 is used with 등산 (hiking): 등산을 가요, which means "go hiking".

The object particle changes with the last sound. After a vowel use 를, as in 축구를. After a consonant use 을, as in 수영을. 축구 is said [축꾸], with a tense ㄱ.

The sports vocabulary lesson has more sports, and the korean sports flashcards deck puts the verb in every card.

Page 2: Music, Movies and Games

Page 2 has two parts. Part A lists fourteen words for music, movies and games, and you match each to its English meaning by writing a letter. Part B gives five verb blanks that connect the words to actions.

Word RR Meaning
음악 eumak music
노래 norae song
가수 gasu singer
콘서트 konseoteu concert
피아노 piano piano
기타 gita guitar
노래방 noraebang karaoke room
영화 yeonghwa movie
드라마 deurama TV drama; series
배우 baeu actor
감독 gamdok director
영화관 yeonghwagwan movie theater
자막 jamak subtitles
게임 geim game
Sentence with a blank RR of the full sentence Meaning
음악을 ___. eumageul deureoyo I listen to music.
영화를 ___. yeonghwareul bwayo I watch a movie.
노래를 ___. noraereul bulleoyo I sing a song.
피아노를 ___. pianoreul chyeoyo I play the piano.
게임을 ___. geimeul haeyo I play a game.

Each noun needs a verb that fits. You listen to music with 듣다, which becomes 들어요. You watch a movie with 보다, which becomes 봐요. You sing with 부르다, which becomes 불러요. You play the piano with 치다, just as you play tennis. Games take 하다.

Movies and dramas are different. A 영화 is a film, usually shown in a cinema and about two hours long. A 드라마 is a TV series with many episodes. The movies and TV lesson and the music lesson cover more words.

Page 3: Write Three Sentences about Your Hobbies

Page 3 is the part where you speak for yourself. Part A is a quick drill on the object particle: eight words, and you write 을 or 를 for each. Part B gives three sentence frames to complete with your own hobby. Part C asks one question, 취미가 뭐예요? (What is your hobby?), and you answer in one sentence.

Frame Meaning
저는 ___을/를 좋아해요. I like ___.
주말에 ___을/를 해요. On weekends I do ___.
친구하고 ___을/를 해요. I do ___ with a friend.

Use your own hobbies, not copied ones. The frame 저는 ___을/를 좋아해요 is the simplest, and the other two add a time or a person. If you need a verb, check the sports list on page 1 or the verbs on page 2.

Word Ends in Particle
축구 vowel 를
수영 consonant 을
영화 vowel 를
음악 consonant 을
노래 vowel 를
게임 consonant 을
요가 vowel 를
책 consonant 을

저는 영화를 좋아해요.

jeoneun yeonghwareul joahaeyo.

I like movies.

The Answer Key

The key is a separate last page. It lists the verb for each sport on page 1, the letter and verb for each item on page 2, and the correct particle for each word in part A on page 3. Your three sentences and your answer to the hobby question are personal answers, so the key gives a model for each instead.

How Do I Use This Sheet?

Plan 30 to 40 minutes, or split the sheet over two days: pages 1 and 2 first, then page 3.

  1. Use your own hobbies. On page 3, write about what you really do, not what the sheet suggests. Real sentences stick better. Checkpoint: you can say two true sentences about your free time.
  2. Check verbs in the sports deck. If you are unsure of a verb on page 1, open the sports flashcards and read the note on the card.
  3. Say the whole phrase, not just the verb. Say "축구를 해요" and "테니스를 쳐요" aloud. The noun, particle and verb are one unit.
  4. Sort the sports by verb. On a scrap of paper, draw four columns headed 하다, 치다, 타다 and 가다, and drop each sport in one. The groups show the pattern.
  5. Check the key at the end. Rewrite wrong items, then try a few sentences with the hobbies conversation practice.

Do page 3 last. By then you will have seen every verb and particle the sentences need.

How Do I Check My Own Sentences?

Page 3 has no single right answer, so the key gives a model and a short checklist. Check that each sentence ends in 요, that the object has 을 or 를, and that the verb matches the noun. Ask a Korean teacher or language partner to read your sentences if you can.

Print at 100 percent scale in black and white, on A4 or US Letter, with 12 mm margins that leave room for a hole punch. Turn off fit-to-page, because scaling shrinks the writing boxes. Page 3 has ruled lines for your own writing, so use a pen or a soft pencil. Keep the key page apart if you share the worksheet with others.

Mistakes to Watch For

  • Using 하다 for every sport. Racket and strike sports take 치다, and sports where you ride or glide take 타다. Say 테니스를 쳐요, not 테니스를 해요.
  • Mixing 영화 and 드라마. A 영화 is a film, and a 드라마 is a TV series. If you want to say you watch a series, use 드라마.
  • Writing the wrong particle. After 수영 and 음악 use 을. After 축구, 영화 and 노래 use 를.
  • Using 하다 for the piano or guitar. These take 치다, as in 피아노를 쳐요 and 기타를 쳐요. Other instruments use other verbs, so learn each one with its verb.

Most of these mistakes are about verbs, so say each phrase aloud and ask whether it sounds right.

What This Worksheet Does Not Cover

The sheet covers twelve sports, fourteen hobby words and three sentence frames. It does not cover camping, fishing, board games, K-pop terms or the long list of verbs for hobbies such as cooking and drawing. For those, use the korean hobbies vocabulary hub. The sheet is hand practice, so it does not teach how to ask someone about their hobbies in conversation.

What Should I Practice Next?

After the sheet, drill the korean sports flashcards and the music vocabulary flashcards, then read the games lesson for the game words. Find other sheets in the Korean vocabulary worksheets collection, and continue with the Korean culture vocabulary worksheet.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which Sports Are on the Worksheet?

Twelve: 축구, 농구, 수영, 요가, 테니스, 탁구, 골프, 배드민턴, 스키, 스케이트, 자전거 and 등산. Each is paired with the verb that goes with it: 하다, 치다, 타다 or 가다. The key lists the right verb for every sport.

Are Verbs Included?

Yes. Page 1 is built around the verb. You write 해요, 쳐요, 타요 or 가요 after each sport. Page 2 adds five verb blanks for music, movies and games: 들어요, 봐요, 불러요, 쳐요 and 해요.

Do I Have to Write about My Own Hobbies?

Page 3 asks you to, because personal sentences are easier to remember. If you do not have a hobby, write about something you have done or would like to try. The frames work for any topic you can name.

Is It Suitable for Beginners?

Yes. It is level A1, the words are common, and every sentence is short. You do not need to know grammar beyond the polite 요 ending and the object particle, and both are explained on the page.

Is Audio Linked?

The printed PDF has no audio. This page has play buttons for five model items, and the sports and music flashcards decks have a clip for every card.
