What Is on Each Page?
Page 1 is about the world of school, page 2 widens to the classroom and the office, and page 3 asks you to read a real-looking timetable. Each page uses the words from the one before.
Page 1: School Subjects and School Levels
Page 1 has two parts. Part A lists ten school subjects, and you match each to its English meaning by writing a letter. Part B shows four school levels in mixed order, and you number them from the first to the last.
| Subject | RR | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| 수학 | suhak | mathematics |
| 과학 | gwahak | science |
| 역사 | yeoksa | history |
| 영어 | yeongeo | English |
| 국어 | gugeo | Korean language |
| 음악 | eumak | music |
| 미술 | misul | art |
| 체육 | cheyuk | physical education |
| 사회 | sahoe | social studies |
| 지리 | jiri | geography |
Most subject names are two Sino-Korean syllables: 수 and 학 make 수학. The ending 학 means a field of study, so you also see 과학 (science) and 화학 (chemistry). The Korean school subjects flashcards deck lists more of them.
| School level | RR | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| 초등학교 | chodeunghakgyo | elementary school |
| 중학교 | junghakgyo | middle school |
| 고등학교 | godeunghakgyo | high school |
| 대학교 | daehakgyo | university |
The school levels all contain 학교, which means "school". The word before it says which kind. 초등 means "elementary", 중 means "middle", 고등 means "high", and 대학 means "college". So the pattern 초등학교, 중학교, 고등학교, 대학교 is also the order students pass through them. 학교 is said [학꾜] in all four words, with a tense ㄱ.
Page 2: Classroom and Office Words
Page 2 has three parts. Part A gives eight English clues for classroom objects, and you write the Korean word. Part B lists eight office words to match with English. Part C asks you to choose the right title for three people.
| Classroom word | RR | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| 교실 | gyosil | classroom |
| 칠판 | chilpan | blackboard |
| 책상 | chaeksang | desk |
| 의자 | uija | chair |
| 공책 | gongchaek | notebook |
| 연필 | yeonpil | pencil |
| 지우개 | jiugae | eraser |
| 필통 | piltong | pencil case |
| Office word | RR | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| 회사 | hoesa | company |
| 사무실 | samusil | office |
| 회의 | hoeui | meeting |
| 동료 | dongnyo | colleague |
| 사장님 | sajangnim | boss; company president (polite) |
| 출근 | chulgeun | going to work |
| 퇴근 | toegeun | leaving work |
| 명함 | myeongham | business card |
Part C is about titles. Korean adds 님 to a title to show respect. A school teacher is called 선생님, and a university teacher is called 교수님. Do not drop the 님 when you speak to or about them. A person who studies is just a 학생.
| Title | RR | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| 선생님 | seonsaengnim | teacher |
| 교수님 | gyosunim | professor |
| 학생 | haksaeng | student |
Page 3: Read and Complete a Timetable
Page 3 shows a school timetable with four class periods and five weekdays. You read it and answer six questions in Korean. Then you fill in three empty cells in a blank copy with subjects from your own week.
| 교시 | 월 | 화 | 수 | 목 | 금 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1교시 | 국어 | 수학 | 영어 | 과학 | 체육 |
| 2교시 | 수학 | 영어 | 국어 | 수학 | 음악 |
| 3교시 | 영어 | 체육 | 미술 | 국어 | 역사 |
| 4교시 | 과학 | 국어 | 수학 | 영어 | 사회 |
The word 교시 means "class period" and goes after a Sino-Korean number: 1교시 is read 일 교시 (il gyosi). The question "무슨 수업이에요?" means "What class is it?". 수업 is a lesson, while 반 is a class group of students. For weekday names see the days of the week lesson.
The Answer Key
The key is a separate last page. It lists the letter for each subject, the order of the school levels, the Korean word for each classroom clue, the letter for each office word, the titles for part C, and the answer to each timetable question. The cells you fill in from your own week are personal answers, so they are not in the key.
How Do I Use This Sheet?
Plan 30 to 40 minutes, or split the sheet over two days: pages 1 and 2 first, then page 3.
- Write your own timetable. After page 3, write your own weekly plan with Korean subject or activity names. Checkpoint: you can fill in five cells without the sheet.
- Learn 선생님 and 교수님 as titles. Say them with 님 every time. The classroom words lesson has more classroom vocabulary.
- Read the school levels as a path. Say them in order: 초등학교, 중학교, 고등학교, 대학교. The order is the meaning.
- Draw the classroom words. On page 2, sketch a simple desk, chair and pencil case, and write each Korean word beside its picture.
- Check the key last. Rewrite wrong items, then review them with the korean school words flashcards.
The timetable page is the only one where reading comes before writing. Read all the questions first, then scan the table once.
How Do I Check the Timetable Answers?
Check each answer by finding the day column and the period row in the key. Question 6 counts how often 수학 appears in the week, so count the cells one by one. If your total differs from the key, check whether you counted a cell twice.
Print Settings
Print at 100 percent scale in black and white, on A4 or US Letter, with 12 mm margins that leave room for a hole punch. Turn off fit-to-page, because scaling shrinks the writing boxes. The timetable is drawn as a plain table so it is easy to read in black and white. Print the key on its own sheet if you share the worksheet with others.
Mistakes to Watch For
- Mixing 학교 and 대학교. 학교 is the general word for school. 대학교 is a university. Use the full 대학교 when you need to say that a person is at university.
- Using 회사 for school. 회사 is a company. A student goes to 학교, and a worker goes to 회사.
- Dropping 님 from 선생님 or 교수님. Without 님, the word is a plain noun and sounds disrespectful when you talk to a teacher.
- Confusing 수업 and 반. 수업 is a lesson, and 반 is the group of students. Say 수학 수업 for a maths lesson.
Most slips come from similar-looking words, so read each clue twice before you write.
What This Worksheet Does Not Cover
The sheet covers ten subjects, four school levels, sixteen classroom and office words and one timetable. It does not cover exam words, grades, university majors or workplace ranks. For exams, see the exams and grades lesson, and for the wider topic see korean school vocabulary. The sheet is hand practice, so it does not teach how to speak to a boss or a professor.
What Should I Practice Next?
After the sheet, drill the korean school words flashcards and read the stationery lesson for the objects on page 2. Find other sheets in the Korean vocabulary worksheets collection, and continue with the Korean hobbies vocabulary worksheet.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which Subjects Are on the Worksheet?
