Choose A4 or US Letter on the card. Print the three exercise pages together and the key page separately. The PDF is available in A4 and US Letter from the download card. For practice, this page describes every item, including the weekly calendar, so you can copy it into your own notebook.

What Is on Each Page?

Page 1 is about spelling, page 2 is about reading, and page 3 is about choosing the right time word for a situation. The pages build on each other, so do them in order.

Page 1: Write the Days and the Months

Page 1 has two parts. Part A gives seven boxes for the weekdays, each with a small clue. Part B gives twelve boxes for the months, each with a numeral. You write the Korean word in every box. The first two boxes in each part are dotted models to trace.

The weekdays come from the old names for the sun, the moon and five elements. Each name ends in 요일, which means "day of the week", so you only need to learn the first syllable and add 요일.

Weekday RR Meaning Clue
월요일 woryoil Monday 월 = moon
화요일 hwayoil Tuesday 화 = fire
수요일 suyoil Wednesday 수 = water
목요일 mogyoil Thursday 목 = wood
금요일 geumyoil Friday 금 = metal
토요일 toyoil Saturday 토 = earth
일요일 iryoil Sunday 일 = sun

Month names are simpler: take the Sino-Korean number and add 월 (month). 1월 is 일월, 2월 is 이월, and so on. Two months do not follow the plain number. 6월 is 유월, not 육월, and 10월 is 시월, not 십월. In the spoken form, the final consonant of some numbers links to 월: 일월 sounds like [이뤌], and 칠월 sounds like [치뤌].

Numeral Korean RR
1월 일월 irwol
2월 이월 iwol
3월 삼월 samwol
4월 사월 sawol
5월 오월 owol
6월 유월 yuwol
7월 칠월 chirwol
8월 팔월 parwol
9월 구월 guwol
10월 시월 siwol
11월 십일월 sibirwol
12월 십이월 sibiwol

Page 2: Read a Weekly Calendar

Page 2 shows a week with one activity for each day. You read the calendar and answer six questions in Korean, such as "Which day is the test?" or "What is on Tuesday?". The calendar uses nouns you already know from the school and daily-life topics.

Day Activity RR Meaning
월요일 수업 sueop class
화요일 운동 undong exercise
수요일 병원 byeongwon hospital
목요일 시험 siheom test
금요일 영화 yeonghwa movie
토요일 친구 chingu friend
일요일 휴일 hyuil day off

The questions practise the particle 에, which marks a time. Weekdays take it: 금요일에, 월요일에. Time words such as 오늘, 어제 and 내일 do not, which is the trap on page 3. The model answer uses the pattern in the audio below. Read the days of the week lesson for more on 요일 and 주말.

Page 3: Time Expressions Fill-In

Page 3 starts with an anchor line: "Today is Wednesday". Every time word on the page is measured from that day. You fill in eight time words and three short sentences, and then write today's real weekday.

Korean RR Meaning If today is Wednesday
그저께 geujeokke the day before yesterday 월요일
어제 eoje yesterday 화요일
오늘 oneul today 수요일
내일 naeil tomorrow 목요일
모레 more the day after tomorrow 금요일
Korean RR Meaning
지금 jigeum now
매일 maeil every day
이번 주 ibeon ju this week
다음 주 daeum ju next week

The words 오늘, 어제, 내일 and 지금 work as adverbs by themselves. You say 오늘 가요 (I go today) and 어제 갔어요 (I went yesterday), without 에. Add 에 after a weekday, a month, a clock time or a word such as 주말 (weekend), as in 수요일에, 열두 시에 or 주말에.

The time expressions lesson covers parts of the day and the words for frequency.

내일은 목요일이에요.

naeireun mogyoirieyo.

Tomorrow is Thursday.

The Answer Key

The key is a separate last page. It lists the seven weekdays and the twelve months in order, the answer to each calendar question, the time word for each blank on page 3, and a note on the sentence writing task. The line that asks for today's weekday is a personal answer, so the key shows only the format.

How Do I Use This Sheet?

Plan 30 to 40 minutes, or split the sheet over two days: page 1 first, then pages 2 and 3.

  1. Fill in your own calendar. After page 1, take a real calendar or planner and write the Korean weekday and month at the top of this week. Checkpoint: you can write today's weekday and month in Korean.
  2. Mark 유월 and 시월. Circle them in a different colour on page 1. These two months break the plain-number rule, and a visible mark helps you stop and think before you write.
  3. Say each weekday as you write it. Say 월요일, 화요일, 수요일 aloud in a row. The chain is a rhythm, and rhythm helps recall.
  4. Keep the 에 rule in view. On page 3, write a small "에?" beside each sentence and decide whether the time word needs it.
  5. Check the key last. Rewrite wrong items, then review the same words with the days of the week in korean flashcards.

You can repeat the sheet a week later with a different anchor day. If today is Friday, 내일 becomes 토요일, and the whole page changes with it.

How Do I Check the Calendar Answers?

Check the weekday answers by exact spelling, including 요일. Then check the sentence answers for the particle 에. If you wrote 금요일 instead of 금요일에, the idea is right but the particle is missing. The key shows the full answer so you can compare it with your own.

Print at 100 percent scale in black and white, on A4 or US Letter, with 12 mm margins that leave room for a hole punch. Turn off fit-to-page, because scaling shrinks the writing boxes. Print one extra copy of page 2 to use as a template for your own week. Keep the key page apart if you share the worksheet with others.

Mistakes to Watch For

  • Reading 6월 as 육월. The month is 유월. The same goes for 10월, which is 시월, not 십월.
  • Forgetting 요일. 월 alone means "month", as in 1월, and is only the first part of 월요일. Write 월요일 for Monday.
  • Adding 에 to 오늘, 어제 and 내일. Say 어제 갔어요, not 어제에 갔어요. These words already tell you when.
  • Mixing 그저께 and 어제. 그저께 is two days ago and 어제 is one day ago. Both are on page 3, so check the anchor day first.

Most slips are in the particles, so read each page 3 sentence aloud before you write it.

What This Worksheet Does Not Cover

The sheet covers weekdays, months, a week of activities and nine time words. It does not cover clock times, dates of the month, parts of the day or frequency words such as 자주 and 가끔. For months in detail, use the months in korean lesson. For clock times, use page 4 of the Korean numbers worksheet; the korean time words hub links to the telling-time lesson. The sheet is hand practice, so it does not teach how to say a full date aloud.

What Should I Practice Next?

After the sheet, drill the days of the week in korean flashcards and the months in Korean flashcards, then test yourself with the days of the week quiz and the months quiz. Find other sheets in the Korean vocabulary worksheets collection, and continue with the Korean places vocabulary worksheet.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which Months Are on the Worksheet?

All twelve, from 일월 to 십이월. Page 1 asks you to write each one from its numeral. Pay attention to 유월 for June and 시월 for October, because they differ from the plain number. The key lists all twelve in order.

Is a Calendar Included?

Yes. Page 2 is a weekly calendar with one activity per day, and six questions about it. You answer in Korean. It is a small calendar, not a full month grid, so it fits on one page with room for writing.

Is It Printable?

Yes. It is a PDF that prints on A4 or US Letter at 100 percent scale, in black and white. The file is available in A4 and US Letter from the download card, and this page describes every item.

Is Audio Linked?

The printed PDF has no audio. This page has play buttons for five model items, and the days and months flashcards decks have a clip for every card.

Does It Teach Telling the Time?

No. It covers time words, weekdays and months, but not clock times or hours and minutes. For those, use the Korean numbers worksheet, whose page 4 has clock times, and the telling-time lesson linked from the time words hub.

May I Use These Worksheets in Class?
