Which Korean Grammar Quiz Should I Start With?
Start with the Korean particles quiz if you are at the very beginning, because particles appear in every sentence. If you already use particles, take the Korean conjugation quiz. If you have studied a full set of beginner lessons, use the Korean beginner grammar test as one wide check, then fix what it shows with the narrower quizzes.
| If you are here | Start with | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Just starting grammar | Particles quiz | it matches the first grammar lessons |
| Can use particles | Conjugation quiz | polite present, past and future forms of regular verbs |
| Regular verbs feel easy | Irregular verbs quiz | ㅂ, ㄷ, ㅅ, ㅎ, 르, ㄹ and ㅡ changes are tested apart |
| Unsure about time words | Tenses quiz | present, past, future and progressive |
| Speaking to elders or in writing | Honorifics quiz | tests who is honoured, the subject or the speaker |
| Finished the beginner lessons | Beginner grammar test | 30 questions across A1 patterns |
A short warm-up helps if you are unsure.
Try a Three-Question Warm-Up
The warm-up has three grammar questions and shows the format that all six quizzes share: a question, a choice of answers and a reason for the right one.
Practice · 3
Choose the particle: 저는 학교___ 공부해요. (I study at school.)
Show answer
에서
에서 marks the place where an action happens. 에 marks a destination or a point in time, so 학교에 가요 means "I go to school".
Which is the polite present form of 먹다 (to eat)?
Show answer
먹어요
The last vowel of the stem 먹 is ㅓ, not ㅏ or ㅗ, so the ending is -어요.
Which form tells you the action already happened?
Show answer
갔어요
-았/었- marks the past: 가 + 았어요 becomes 갔어요. 가요 is present, 갈 거예요 is future and 가고 있어요 is in progress.
Without JavaScript, the answers are these: 에서 marks the place of an action, the polite present of 먹다 is 먹어요 because the stem's vowel is ㅓ, and 갔어요 is the past form of 가다.
What Is in Each Korean Grammar Quiz?
The grid below lists the six quizzes in the order we suggest. The sections after it give the scope of each one.
Six Grammar Quizzes in Learning Order
Each follows a grammar lesson.
Korean Particles Quiz

Korean Conjugation Quiz
The Korean conjugation quiz has 20 questions on the polite present, past and future forms of regular verbs. Irregular verbs are not mixed in, because they have their own quiz. Level A1.
Korean Irregular Verbs Quiz
The Korean irregular verbs quiz has 20 questions on the verbs that change their stem: ㅂ, ㄷ, ㅅ, ㅎ, 르, ㄹ and ㅡ irregulars. Level A2.
Korean Tenses Quiz
The Korean tenses quiz has 15 questions on present, past, future and progressive forms. Level A1.
Korean Honorifics Quiz
The Korean honorifics quiz has 15 questions on -(으)시-, honorific nouns such as 분 and 댁, and the rule that the honorific respects the subject of the sentence, not the listener. Level A2.

In What Order Should I Take These Quizzes?
Take them in the order of the table, and take each one after its matching grammar lesson. The order follows the learning path: particles, regular verbs, irregular verbs, tenses, honorifics, then the mixed test. The times are typical for a first attempt and there is no timer.
| # | Quiz | Questions | Typical time | Take it after |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Korean Particles Quiz | 20 | about 10 min | Korean particles |
| 2 | Korean Conjugation Quiz | 20 | about 10 min | Korean verb conjugation |
| 3 | Korean Irregular Verbs Quiz | 20 | about 12 min | Korean irregular verbs |
| 4 | Korean Tenses Quiz | 15 | about 8 min | Korean tenses |
| 5 | Korean Honorifics Quiz | 15 | about 8 min | Korean honorifics |
| 6 | Korean Beginner Grammar Test | 30 | about 15 min | beginner Korean grammar |
The total is 120 questions, which is roughly an hour if you took every quiz in one go. Most learners spread them over one to three weeks, one quiz per study session. Practice cards for grammar are in the grammar flashcard decks, and printable practice is in the grammar worksheets.
How Are the Grammar Quizzes Written?
Every question was written for this site. Each has a correct answer and a one-sentence reason, and the wrong choices are taken from real learner confusions: 에 against 에서, 은/는 against 이/가, regular endings against irregular stems, and honorific forms used for the speaker. Romanization follows Revised Romanization (RR), the official system of South Korea since 2000, and appears only as a label next to Hangul.
Grammar rules follow the National Institute of Korean Language (NIKL) and the Standard Korean Language Dictionary.
How Does the Quiz Count My Score?
Each quiz counts the questions you answered correctly on the first try in one session. There is no timer and no ranking. The count is not a CEFR or TOPIK level and makes no claim about fluency. When a quiz ends, you see the count and links to the lesson for your missed items. For the official exam, see topik.go.kr.
What Do the Grammar Quizzes Not Cover?
The six quizzes cover particles, regular and irregular conjugation, tenses, honorifics and a mixed beginner check. They do not cover vocabulary, listening, speaking, writing or the full grammar of higher levels. They also do not score your speech. For word practice, go to the vocabulary quizzes, and for a wider check, take the Korean level test. The full collection is at Korean quizzes, and the lessons are under Korean grammar.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which grammar quiz should I take first? Take the particles quiz first if you are a beginner, because every sentence uses particles. If you already use particles with confidence, move to the conjugation quiz. If you have finished a full beginner course, take the 30-question beginner grammar test and let its summary point to your weakest topic.
Are irregular verbs separate? Yes. The conjugation quiz tests regular verbs only, and the irregular verbs quiz covers the seven classes whose stems change: ㅂ, ㄷ, ㅅ, ㅎ, 르, ㄹ and ㅡ. Keeping them apart lets you find out whether a miss came from the basic ending rules or from an irregular change.
Do quizzes explain answers? Yes. Every question has a one-sentence reason shown after you answer, whether you were right or wrong. A missed question also points to the grammar lesson on that topic, so you can read the full rule and then retry the quiz on another day.
Is the test official? No. These are self-tests written for this site, and the score is not a level. They are not TOPIK and do not predict a TOPIK result. The official exam information is on topik.go.kr. Use the quizzes to find weak spots, then practise those topics.
Are my answers saved? Answers and scores stay in your browser and are cleared when you close the tab, unless you choose to save progress on your own device. Nothing is uploaded to a server. If your browser blocks storage, the quizzes still work and show a notice that progress will not be saved.
